What is Seminary of Sacred Knowledge? +
Seminary of Sacred Knowledge (Darul Uloom Wal Hikmah) is an Islamic educational institution established in 2021 in Amherstburg, Ontario. We offer traditional Islamic education through programs including Hifz al-Qur’an, Islamic Foundation Diploma, Alim Course, and online learning through eAlim.

We are located at 6101 Essex County Rd 20, Amherstburg, ON N0R 1G0, Canada. Our campus is situated in the peaceful countryside, approximately 20 minutes from Windsor, Ontario, and easily accessible from Michigan and Ohio.
What age groups do you serve? +
We serve students of all ages. Our Hifz program accepts students from age 10 and up, the Islamic Foundation Diploma is open to high school graduates and adults, the Alim Course is designed for working professionals, and eAlim is accessible to learners worldwide of any age.

Admissions & Enrollment

How do I apply for admission? +
You can apply by visiting our Contact page and filling out the inquiry form, selecting your program of interest. Our admissions team will contact you with next steps, including the formal application form and interview process.
What are the admission requirements? +
Requirements vary by program:
  • Hifz: Minimum age 10, ability to read Qur’an, parental consent (if under 18)
  • Islamic Diploma: High school education or equivalent, commitment to full-time study
  • Alim Course: Basic Islamic knowledge, ability to commit to part-time schedule
  • eAlim: Internet access, basic Islamic foundation
When does enrollment start? +
We accept applications year-round, but our main intake is in September for the academic year. Some programs have rolling admissions. Contact us for specific program start dates.
Is financial aid available? +
Yes! We offer need-based scholarships and financial assistance to qualified students. No student should be prevented from seeking knowledge due to financial constraints. Please indicate your need for financial aid on your application.

Programs & Curriculum

How long does it take to complete Hifz? +
Most students complete Hifz in 3-4 years with our full-time program, though this varies based on individual pace, dedication, and prior knowledge. We focus on quality retention rather than speed.
What is the Islamic Foundation Diploma? +
It’s a comprehensive one-year full-time program covering six core Islamic sciences: Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Arabic Language, and Islamic History. It provides a solid foundation for further Islamic studies or community leadership.
Can I study part-time while working? +
Yes! Our Alim Course is specifically designed for working professionals with weekend and evening classes. You can pursue traditional Islamic scholarship while maintaining your career.
What is eAlim? +

Campus & Facilities

Do you provide housing? +
Yes, on-campus housing is available for full-time students in our Hifz and Islamic Foundation Diploma programs. Accommodations include dormitory-style rooms, meals, and all necessary amenities.
What facilities do you have? +
Our 5-acre campus includes classrooms, a comprehensive library, prayer hall, student housing, dining hall, gymnasium, outdoor recreational areas, and all necessary educational facilities.

Tuition & Fees

How much is tuition? +
Tuition varies by program. Please contact our admissions office at (226) 899-7266 or office@seminaryofsk.com for current tuition rates. We offer financial aid and payment plans to make education accessible.
Are there additional fees? +
Full-time residential programs include housing and meals in the tuition. There may be small fees for textbooks, materials, and activities. We keep additional costs minimal.

Daily Life & Community

What is a typical day like for students? +
The day begins with Fajr prayer, followed by Qur’an recitation and breakfast. Classes run from morning through afternoon with breaks for prayers and meals. Evening includes revision time, group study, and personal development activities. The schedule balances academic rigor with spiritual growth and recreation.
What is the dress code? +
We maintain Islamic standards of modesty. Male students typically wear traditional Islamic clothing (thobe, kufi) or modest Western clothing. Female students wear hijab and modest Islamic attire. Specific guidelines are provided upon enrollment.
Do you have recreational activities? +
Yes! We believe in holistic development. Students have access to our gymnasium, outdoor sports facilities, and organized recreational activities. We encourage physical fitness and healthy leisure time.
